The Unhealthy Employee

Everyone, specially someone with a family, will need health insurance at some point in time. Employers offer the best deal on health insurance compared to buying it privately. The get better rates and it helps employers to keep employees for this benefit. The business also will get a tax deduction for the health insurance if offers its employees.
Employers do face one problem with this and that is they do not know how many unhealthy employees they have working for them. Also, how many employees will participate in unhealthy lifestyles.
Obesity is the most typical unhealthy practice that is seen in America. It is a known fact the those employees who are obese will file more insurance claims than those who are not. Those employees who smoke will be sick more often and use more sick days than those who don’t smoke. Not only that, but they are also a higher risk for lung cancer and heart disease which are more serious conditions. But the insurance companies are well aware of this people and raise their price to cover the cost of these unhealthy employees.
